Mobile Mothers in the Sweetwaters Community

The Hope Centre has, so far, trained over 30 Mobile Mothers and carers to provide vulnerable orphans with much needed practical advice, supplies and medicine. In some cases, orphans as young as eight years old are left to look after their younger brothers and sisters, so the impact these regular visits make is huge.

One Mobile Mother can make a difference to hundreds of children, offering hope, protection and the only motherly love they have left in their lives.

Mobile Mothers Provide:

• Food Security

• Clothing

• Monthly training/Fun days for child-headed households

• School Uniforms

• Pshyco-social support

• Introductions to healthcare programme where necessary

• Assistance to obtain child grants and school subsides

With over 6,000 orphans in this community alone and more mothers dying of AIDS every day, we urgently need the money to train and support more Mobile Mothers.
